At the heart of the YCM705 is a custom-designed 1-inch large-diaphragm condenser capsule with a gold-sputtered diaphragm. The dual-diaphragm capsule enhances the acoustic response characteristics, letting you fully and realistically capture the sound without losing the delicate breathy sounds in emotional vocals or the subtle finger noises in playing stringed instruments. Moreover, since the directivity is cardioid, it is simple to capture the desired sound and easily obtain professional-level results in your recordings.

The YCM705 has a built-in pad switch, for decreasing the input signal in three steps: OFF, -10 dB, and -20 dB. Set the switch depending on the recording target, and this versatile mic lets you record not only vocals and acoustic guitars, but also various high-SPL instruments with powerful transients, such as drums, wind or brass instruments and pianos.
