Get Your Freq On: Explore the New Shifter Effect in Live 11.1

Via Ableton.com

Playing with frequency is one of the most versatile techniques available to modern music makers. Whether it’s crafting strange, high-pitched vocals or adding low-end thump to a previously thin drum loop, the range of effects you can get from tweaking the frequency or pitch of an incoming signal is impressive.

Shifter is the new version of Frequency Shifter for Live 11.1, and comes with a bunch of added features that make it an even more flexible tool for music production: real-time pitch shifting, an LFO display, stereo width controls, a dedicated envelope follower and in-built sidechaining for MIDI pitch control, to name just a few.

In this tutorial, Chuck Sutton explores Shifter’s new features and shares some unusual tips for getting the most out of the updated device.
