Rosendahl nanoclocks is a word clock distribution unit featuring an integrated audio master clock generator, dual inputs with frequency status indicators, and a programmable output matrix. This is a very flexible tool for all digital audio installations.
Nanoclocks provides two transformer isolated word clock inputs and twelve word clock outputs - enabling the unit to receive and distribute word clock signals over long distances. The transformer isolated inputs eliminate any jitter in clock signals caused by ground potential variations (similar to earth loop induced hum in analog audio devices).
In normal operation (DISTRIBUTOR mode), incoming time code connected to the two inputs can be routed individually to each of the twelve outputs.
Ten LEDs on the front panel indicate the sample rate of the incoming signals. Input B also accepts Fs x256 signals (also known as super clock).
In GENERATOR mode, nanoclocks is an ultra low jitter audio master clock generator with 12 programmable outputs. Supported sample rates are 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz as well as the respective super clocks (Fs x256).
For broadcasters, the FAILSAFE mode monitors the two incoming time code signals and performs an automatic switch over of all 12 outputs if the primary word clock signal fails.
